Tibbetts murder didn’t need to be politicized

Family, friends and others grieved the loss to Mollie Tibbetts.

After Mollie’s family asked that her murder not be politicized, President Donald Trump disregarded their wishes and went on television to state that the person that killed Mollie was an illegal immigrant.

In that same time frame, a U.S. citizen named Chris Watts was arrested and charged in the murder and massacre of his pregnant wife and two small daughters, whose bodies were hidden in oil tanks. President Trump failed to mention this because he was a U.S. citizen, and that would not help him get his way.

Now, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley is not respecting the wishes of the Tibbetts family, and has now politicized the murder. Grassley claims that, if we had a wall, this would not have happened. Well, senator, if the farmers had not hired him, he would not be in the area.

What happened to common sense and decency when you can’t respect the wishes of Mollie’s family?

As far as the wall, it may slow them down, but they will find a way. Remember a few years back when they found a tunnel from Mexico to California, south of San Diego?

Word gets back to family and friends across the border, and places where people hire illegal immigrants. The people that hire these people are seldom prosecuted. The cycle starts all over again.
