ROCK FALLS – Louis Bohms, 92, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at The Citadel of Sterling. Louis was employed as a machinist with Northwestern Steel & Wire for 37 years, retiring in 1982.
Louis was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Rock Falls, the son of Fred and Elva (Fisher) Bohms. He married Esther Bohms on Sept. 18, 1950, in Sterling. He served in the Army in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Esther of Rock Falls; four daughters, Linda Bohms of Rock Falls, Diana (Terry) Miller of Sterling, Kathy (Bill) DePuy of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Vida (Joe) Wosaba of Fulton; four sons, Steve Bohms of Rock Falls, Joseph (Leota) Bohms of Sterling, Michael Bohms of Columbia, Missouri; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jenny Sutton; and two brothers, Harold and Raymond Bohms.
Graveside services with military rites will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling with Bree Truax, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls, officiating. McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls handled arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Relay for Life.
