Rosemary Wilsey

ROCK FALLS – Rosemary Wilsey, 60, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at her home. 

Rosemary was born Nov. 12, 1957, in East St. Louis, the daughter of Edwin H. and June A. (Bequeret) Maine. She attended Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, where she studied liberal arts. She married William Wilsey on Oct. 23, 1993, at East View Baptist Church in Belleville, Illinois. Rosemary enjoyed making jewelry and researching genealogy. She was very knowledgeable about history, geography and the ancient world. She was employed at Parkway Retirement Center as a cook. 

Survivors include her husband, William of Rock Falls; two sons, James E. Wilsey and William J. Wilsey, both of Sterling; two sisters, Edwina (Fred) Engel of Lansing, Michigan, and Judith (John) Looney of Independence, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Alexzandria Wilsey, Cedrick Ries-Wilsey and Samara Ries-Wilsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sharon Thomure; and two brothers, Don Maine and Clarence Maine in infancy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation in Sterling. There will be no funeral services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be at a later date.

A memorial has been established.
