DIXON – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing Kentucky man whose truck was found in Dixon, and his family is offering a $25,000 reward for information on his whereabouts.
Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron said a missing persons report was filed Friday for Austin Jones, 24, of Monticello, Kentucky, an over-the-road truck driver with CR England Trucking Co.
His family last heard from Catron on June 24.
Jones' truck was found at the Road Ranger convenience store, 1801 S. Galena Ave., on Friday. Dixon police searched the truck and found Jones' personal items, but no sign of Jones. Dixon Police Sgt. Doug Lehman said there were no signs of foul play in the truck.
"We found he had some contacts with DeKalb County law enforcement before he was reported missing.” Lehman said. “They talked to him, and that's the last they saw of him.”
Jones is white, with brown hair and eyes, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 141 pounds and has a medium build.
Anyone with information is asked to call their local police or sheriff's department, or the Wayne County Sheriff's Department at 606-348-5416.
