Thankful for culinary creations

What an amazing evening it was for Rock River Hospice & Home at the June 30 Fourth Tapas & Tinis Fundraiser.

The fundraiser incorporates community members as chefs, making a variety of appetizers for guests to enjoy, along with specialty martini drinks created by the Brandywine Inn staff. Guests were encouraged to support their favorite chef or appetizer by voting with cash donations, with all the collected proceeds benefiting RRHH.

Thank you to Chuck Miller and the staff at the Brandywine, who embrace this idea and make everything work seamlessly for the chefs and guests; to CGH Medical Center for sponsoring the event; and to Riley Horton, our entertainment for the evening.

We also give a big thank you to our Community “Celebrity” Chefs who graciously donated their time, talent and food for everyone to taste and enjoy. Thank you to Bud LeFevre; Andrea Miller; Nathan and Tiffany Hummel; David Hellmich; LuAnn Gvodzjak, Karen Abele and Dawn Grell; Steve Nunez; Kristie Geil; Jim Eggleston and Mike Grems; Cynthia Stringer, Elvia Estrada and Cynthia Rodriguez; and Maya Reter, Kolten Conklin and Katrina Sandefer; along with their spouses or Sous Chefs.

We thank everyone who attended and made a cash donation or pledge that evening, and for recognizing and supporting Rock River Hospice & Home. Your generosity means so much to us and means even more to those who benefit from our services. Rock River Hospice & Home serves Lee, Ogle, Carroll, Bureau and Whiteside counties, and opened a new hospice home inpatient facility in Sterling in 2017.

Rock River Hospice and Home is an United Partner Agency.
