POLO – Polo Town and Country Days kicks off in earnest today with carnival rides, bingo and fireworks.
Here’s a rundown of some of the festival’s events:
• Today’s events include carnival rides from noon to 5 p.m.; a dunk tank from 5 to 8 p.m.; the Little Miss and Mr. contest at 5 p.m.; a Quartermania event at 6 p.m.; and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
• Friday has a lot for the kids, with a fun fair and petting zoo from 1 to 3 p.m.; rides from noon to 10 p.m., a fun fair and kids petting zoo from 1 to 3 p.m., and more. There will also be a DJ in the festival tent from 5 to 11:30 p.m.
• On Saturday, a car show and swap meet get things revved up from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also planned are a volleyball tournament at 9 a.m., kids water fights at 10 a.m., and a bags tournament from noon to 5 p.m. Lyle Grobe and the Rhythm Ramblers will play from 5 to 7:30 p.m., followed by Route 38 from 9 to 11:30 p.m.
• The Father’s Day Grand Parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, with pedal tractor races at 2 p.m.
Throughout the weekend, 50-50 tickets will be sold. The drawing is at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Food will be sold throughout the weekend.
