WALNUT – An 18-year-old Bureau Valley High School student was charged Monday with felony disorderly conduct after he threatened to “shoot up the school, and in particular, a girl classmate,” Bureau County Sheriff Jim Reed said Tuesday.
Reed said Colten Fritz of Walnut was taken into custody Sunday after Bureau Valley Principal Jason Spang notified police of the threat.
Bureau County deputies searched Fritz’s home, and no guns were found.
Fritz was placed on supervised release with an ankle bracelet after 10 percent of his $10,000 bond was posted.
He’s scheduled to appear in court at 9:30 a.m. today.
