Dixon church's Memorial Day service is Sunday

DIXON – Sugar Grove School and Church’s 38th annual Memorial Day service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, 352 Timber Creek Road.

Dixon Boy Scouts will present the flag and lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Gen. John Logan’s Orders will be read, and a musical tribute will be performed. Former Navy serviceman Chad Nicklaus will be the speaker.

The names of veterans interred in Palmyra Cemetery will be read before a bagpiper leads a procession to the cemetery, next to the church. The Dixon combined veterans association will have a color guard and gun salute, and raise the flag. Taps will be played.
