DIXON – Three Democrats hoping to land national and state offices in November are hosting an election kick-off party Friday.
They are Sara Dady, a Rockford immigration attorney running to unseat U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, in the 16th District; Amy Davis, a retired educator from Dixon Correctional Center running against state Rep. Tom Demmer, R-Dixon; and David Simpson, a Shabbona lumber yard manager running against Republican Rep. Brian Stewart of Freeport to fill the seat being vacated by state Sen. Tim Bivins.
The get-together runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the AFSCME Union Hall, 662 Palmyra Road. Light refreshments will be served.
