LENA – Lola Jean Dieterle, 90, of Lena, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 9, 1927, in Mount Morris, to Alfred and Pearl (Stukenberg) Zumdahl. She married Leo Vincent Dieterle on Aug. 3, 1947, and together, they raised five daughters. Lola enjoyed gardening, playing cards, cooking, doing crafts; especially sewing, dancing, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Germany, going on Alaskan and Bahamas cruises, and going to the Bahamas for her grandson’s wedding. Lola was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena.
Lola is survived by her daughters, Karon (Jack) Fischer of Rolling Meadows, Cynthia Marchant of Glendale, Arizona, Charlene Dieterle of Madison, Wisconsin, Teresa Stamm of Lena, and Mary Lynn (James) Crain of Summerville, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo in 1994; and her sister, Phyllis Binkley.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, and the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena, with the Rev. Andrew Skorbutt officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
