Four arrested for drug possession at Dixon hotel

DIXON – Four people were arrested Tuesday after police say they found marijuana, meth, LSD and Xanax in their hotel room at the Quality Inn & Suites.

Dixon police conducted a search at 6:36 p.m. at the hotel, 136 Plaza Drive, and found 275 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of meth, multiple hits of LSD and alprazolam pills, commonly known as Xanax.

Arrested were Erin D. Harris, 24, of Davenport, Iowa; Dalton J. King, 23, of Rock Falls; and siblings Stephen M. Dexter, 23, and Kaitlyn M. Dexter, 22, both of Dixon.

Harris is charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance – alprazolam. She was released after posting 10 percent of $20,000 bond.

King was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver between 30 and 500 grams and unlawful possession of cannabis ranging from 100 to 500 grams. He was released after posting 10 percent of $30,000 bond.

Both are facing felonies that carry up to 2 to 5 years and 1 to 3 years in prison, respectively.

Stephen Dexter was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver between 30 and 500 grams, unlawful possession of cannabis ranging from 100 to 500 grams, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance – LSD. The first charge carries up to 2 to 5 years in prison and 1 to 3 years each for the latter two.

He was released after posting 10 percent of $5,000 bond.

The three are all scheduled to appear in Lee County court at 9 a.m. April 25.

Kaitlyn Dexter was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis between 30 and 100 grams, a Class A misdemeanor, which carries up to a year in jail. She was released pending a future court date.
