We mourn for children who are lost in mass school shootings, yet our tax money is slaughtering fetuses in the womb every day.
Taxes are used in so many idiotic ways, and most of us don’t have a clue. Would any of you support a small increase in taxes to put armed guards at schools?
Somebody please do a study and inform us how much it would cost to put at least two armed guards at each school, a dollar a day? I have no idea. One guard is not enough at most schools as we saw in Florida recently.
I am willing to petition to have this vote for an “Armed Guard Tax” put on a ballot. We are waiting for big government to do something. Let’s do something locally. Maybe it would catch fire nationwide.
Some support arming willing teachers. I am not opposed to doing that, but I argue that 20 armed teachers at Dixon High School probably can’t stop a threat as quickly as armed guards, whose job it is to be vigilant at all times.
An armed guard is likely to identify a threat much sooner. How quickly and effectively can a teacher identify and stop a threat while in the middle of teaching? With guards who communicate with each other and local police via radios, response times could be cut in half or more. Every second counts. This could be a great job opportunity for retired law enforcement or military.
We insure our boats, we have guards at planes and banks. Ask the families and friends of victims of these shootings if they would have been willing to pay for a little extra insurance to have their kids home safely. I bet I know the answer.
