TOLUCA – Steven E. Flahaven, 62, of Wenona, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at his residence.

Steven was born April 27, 1955, in Streator, a son of Edward D. and Frances E. (Marks) Flahaven. He married Marcia L. Hook on Oct. 7, 1978. Steven graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. He worked in banking his entire career, most recently at First Midwest Bank in Itasca.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joshua (Tabitha) Flahaven of Washington and Zachary (Ginger) Flahaven of LaGrange; and four grandchildren, Larson, Sloane, Isabelle, and Hollis. Also surviving are five sisters, Joan Work of Phoenix, Jane (Kevin) Nelson of St. Louis, Carol Schinzel of Wenona, Mary Densberger of East Peoria, and Janet (Julie Howe) Flahaven of Bella Vista, Arkansas; an uncle, Bernard Flahaven of Wenona; his mother-in-law, Esther Hook of Wenona; sisters-in-law, Laura Sunken and Beth Hook, both of Wenona; and a brother-in-law, Craig Hook of Wenona.

The family is hosting an Irish wake in remembrance of Steve from 5:30 to 8 p.m. March 24 at St. Mary Hall in Wenona. Also, the family would really appreciate you emailing your shared memories of Steve to steveflahaven@gmail.com so they can be memorialized in an album. Cremation rites will be accorded. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in Toluca is assisting the family with arrangements.
