Vote Meyer for Lee treasurer

In response to the letter by Carolyn Leake, “Vote Lawrence for Lee treasurer” [SV Weekend, March 3]:

Ms. Leake feels that if Marcy Lawrence is voted in, it will be, “Open the door, turn on the lights and business as usual.”

This casual kind of thinking is what got the city of Dixon in trouble in the first place.

Remember the Rita Crundwell scandal? Paula Meyer did a fine job helping the city of Dixon get back on track as finance director. With a degree in accounting, and good people skills, Paula is just who we need in the position for Lee County treasurer.

Business as usual is not always the best thing, as Dixon found out the hard way. Let’s move forward with a “new pair of eyes.”
