Making political hay from tragedy crosses the line

In any relationship, there is a line you just don’t cross.

I see Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan is ramming through gun bills. Believe me, if I for a moment thought that this would make my grandkids safer, I would be all for it, but I know better.

This apparently will pass the Senate, too, but it’s all a political play to make the governor veto them to stop them. Madigan thinks that will doom the governor in an election year. This maddens me to no end to think they are still doing nothing to help protect our kids.

This just may backfire if people realize that this is just more political maneuvering on these Florida kids’ deaths, and our kids’ lives, instead of discussing things they could do to make our kids safer.

I don’t know how other people feel about making political hay at the risk to their kids or grandkids, but for me, Madigan has crossed that line.

We have an armed guard at the Social Security office, for crying out loud, but our schools only get posters and signs?
