AMBOY – The ninth annual Top Dog Fundraiser for the Granny Rose Animal Shelter will soon take over the Lee County 4-H Center, 1196 Franklin Road.
The event – which runs Friday, March 2, through Sunday, March 4 – features bags and poker tournaments, raffles, live and silent auctions, live music, and other games.
A blind draw bags tournament will begin at 7 p.m. Friday. Live music will be handled by 3 on The Tree at 8 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday, doubles bags tournaments for three skill levels will begin at 10 a.m. Live music will be presented by Tristan Bushman at 3 p.m. and Burn N’ Bush at 5 p.m. There also will be a “freezer raffle” for beef and pork.
The live auction, set for 6 p.m., will feature Kenny Chesney tickets, signed sports memorabilia from Notre Dame, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bulls and Chicago Cubs, and much more.
There will be liquor and wine bottle ring toss, spin the wheel, and shoot the puck for prizes Friday night and Saturday.
A seniors and women singles bags tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, with an open singles tournament at 11.
Prizes for the Top Dog Raffle are $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second and $500 for third.
Food and drinks will be sold by Shamrock Pub.
There will be a free shuttle from Quality Inn and various locations in Dixon every hour from 5:30 p.m. to midnight Friday and 9 a.m. to midnight Saturday. The hotel will have a special room rate. Call 815-284-0500 for reservations.
