SAN DIEGO – Thomas Edward Joworski, 73, of San Diego, passed away suddenly from a short illness, Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, in San Diego, where he had lived for the past 27 years.
He was born July 23, 1944, in Oregon, the son of Charlotte (Brown) Joworski and Stanley Thomas Joworski. He graduated in 1962 from Oregon High School. He was a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
During his career, he worked for Motorola in Chicago and Oppenheimer Investments in Houston. He then moved to San Diego, and became a painting and decorating contractor, like his father Stanley.
He enjoyed sailing and flying, and owned his own Cessna airplane in the 1970s. He was always smiling and sharing stories of all the places and people he had visited and met throughout his career.
He was an avid photographer and belonged to the Chicago Camera Club, winning awards for his Chicago street photography.
He is survived by his mother, Charlotte of Mount Morris and formerly of Oregon; his remaining five siblings, Patricia Joworski of Brookfield, Gael (William) Briley of Amherstview, Ontario, Canada, Rebecca (Rick) Cortez of La Grange Park, John (Andrea Perry) Joworski of Oregon, and James (Linda) Joworski of Geneva; nieces, Jennifer (Randy) Diehl of Dixon, and Teresa (Nick) Jordan of Palatine; nephews, Kipp Cortez of Princeton, West Virginia, Carlos Cortez of Glendale Heights, Adam Joworski of El Cajon, California, and Tyler Joworski of San Diego; grandnieces and grandnephew, Alyssa Diehl of Dixon, and Elenor and William Jordan of Palatine; and cousins, Cherie McFarland of Brea, California, Pamela (Bruce) True of Mount Morris, and Larry (Sue) Davis of Oregon.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Stanley, and his sister, Mary Martin.
