ROCK FALLS – Sharon L. Jenkins, 83, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at her home.

She was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Sterling, to Tracy and Evelyn (Baker) Jones. She married Donald Leroy Jenkins on Aug. 30, 1978, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2003.  

She was a graduate of Rock Falls High School, and worked as a telephone operator. She later went to work for National Manufacturing as a timekeeper, and was employed with them for more than 20 years.

Sharon enjoyed ice skating, gardening, and swimming. She loved to watch her children play sports. She was very fond of her family, especially her children.

She is survived by her children, Tammy (Glen) Turner of Alabama, and Tracy (Eloy) Reyes, Taffy (Adoff) Ramos, Terry Boyer, Tory Boyer, and Tony (Cheryl) Boyer, all of Rock Falls; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her half sister, Cynthia (Mike) Kobbeman of Sterling; a brother, James (Evie) Jones of Rock Falls; her half brother, Tracy Jones of Sterling; and her close friend, Kay Hoeller of Rock Falls.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tiffany Boyer; a daughter, Trudy Sue Boyer in infancy; her sisters, Nancy Jones, Tracine Boyer, and Marilyn Klocke; her half brother, Greg Jones; a daughter-in-law, Alma Boyer; and a great-granddaughter, Jade Garza.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, and the memorial service at 6 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Falls. Pastor Carl Reese will officiate.
