STERLING – Nancy Shipp, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Rock River Valley Hospice and Home in Sterling. She was a homemaker.

She was born Nov. 4, 1936, the daughter of Arthur and Irma (Atherton) Crofton. She married E. Donald Shipp on Nov. 24, 1955, in Sterling. He preceded her in death in February 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Chris (Mike) Kuelper of Rock Falls and Cathy Shipp of Sterling; five sons, Martin (Lynn) Shipp of Raleigh, North Carolina, Earl (Margaret) Shipp of Sabino, Ohio, Thomas (Teresa) Shipp of Prophetstown, Lee Shipp of Sterling, and Adam Shipp of Coralville, Iowa; three sisters, Sherry Subia of Redondo Beach, California, Debbie Emmert of Lake Mary, Florida, and Dianne (Steve) Gunderson of Sterling; one brother, David (Sandy) Crofton of Huntington Beach, California; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, and the memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Sterling, with the Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
