DIXON – Here’s a fun way for the whole family to beat the winter blahs:
The New Shanghai Circus. a troupe of colorful and very flexible Chinese acrobats, performs at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Dixon Theatre, 114 S. Galena Ave.
Founded in 1951 as the Shanghai Acrobatic Theatre, The New Shanghai Circus has won more gold, silver and bronze medals in domestic and international circus competitions to date than any other Chinese acrobatic company, Cue Theatricals says in its promotional materials.
“The colorful, authentic costumes, state-of-the-art lighting and sound, exciting music, splendid choreography, and exquisite backdrops are designed to highlight the bravery and physical stamina of every acrobat,” it says.
The box office opens at noon; doors open at 3 p.m.
Tickets range from $22 to $49, with discounts for groups of 10 or more.
