DIXON – Carol J. Nicklaus, 79, of Dixon, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon.

Carol was born June 14, 1938, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Davidson) Hager. She married Jack Nicklaus twice.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Nicklaus of Dixon; one son, Randy Nicklaus; one daughter, Penny Nicklaus; three sisters, Dee Dee, Joy, and Sue; three brothers, Nile, Jeff, and Kevin; four grandchildren, Nate Nicklaus, Jamie Smith, Brittany McGauhey, and Brian Howell; and three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Haley, and Avery.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and more recently, one sister, Connie Short; and her son, David Nicklaus, both of whom passed away in 2015.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Carol will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, next to her family. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made in memory of Carol Nicklaus to Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon.
