She was an avid runner, compassionate educator, and accomplished musician, who enjoyed playing clarinet in the Hendersonville Community Band. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, officiated by the Rev. Christy Sharp. Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Elizabeth House, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731; or to the Hendersonville Community Band, P.O. Box 194, Hendersonville, NC 28793.
