Democrats' gambit used wrong stakes

My own solution regarding DACA and the Dreamers would have been to put Trump’s tax breaks on the table.

The Democrats could have shut down the government with popular support for that reason (unlike DACA) indefinitely.

It is my belief that the Wall Street hacks from both sides of the aisle calling themselves legislators would have thrown DACA on the table as an alternative to repealing those tax cuts. If not, then the shutdown would have continued.

Question: Since when is a billionaire’s tax cut worth not paying our troops?

Answer: NEVER.

Instead of pitting immigrant children (whom the GOP’s anti-immigrant base all hate and despise) against the post office and the Marine Corps, the Democrats would have pitted David Koch (along with the GOP’s boogeyman, George Soros!) and Walmart against the USPS and the Marines.

Who do you think wins that battle?

But, no.

Tom Perez wanted his Trump tax break. Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin, both, had to have their Trump tax breaks, too.

So, the Democrats got NOTHING.
