Mady Frederick’s 26 points was enough to overcome a balanced Amboy attack as Milledgeville beat the Clippers 53-48 in a road NUIC game on Wednesday.
Frederick also had five rebounds, five assists and five steals, while Rebecca Waite chipped in a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. Jocelyn Folkers also grabbed 10 rebounds to go with her seven points.
Nine different Clippers scored, with Abi Payne leading the way with 12 points.
Milledgeville trailed 11-10 after one quarter, then outscored Amboy 15-13 in the second quarter to take a 25-24 lead into the break. The Missiles then scored 14 points in the third quarter to take a 39-33 lead into the final 8 minutes.
Hall 44, Prophetstown 40: The Prophets led 11-4 after one quarter, but scored nine points in the second quarter and five in the third in a loss to the Red Devils.
Courtney Pierceson scored 18 points and had four rebounds, three assists and a steal for Prophetstown. Dena Johnson added 11 points, and Emma Camper had seven points and five rebounds.
Erie-Prophetstown splits: The Panthers beat host Sherrard 55-18 and fell to Orion 58-18.
E-P’s points against Orion came from a Garrett Passmore pin of Camden Sellers 1:03 into their 160-pound bout, Mack Foy’s pin of Andrew Allen 3:03 into their match at 195 pounds, and Trevor Pratt pinning Gage Eastin at 1:27 in the 285 match.
Passmore and Foy also scored pins against Sherrard, as did Cameron Abell (113), Chris Bonnell (120), Mat Garrison (170) and Gabe Friedrichsen (182). Jack Ruff scored a decision at 132 pounds, and Calvin Naftzger earned a major decision at 152.
Marcos sweep in Amboy: Polo won a pair of duals in Amboy, beating the Clippers 40-21 and topping Fulton on criteria when the teams tied 36-36, as the Marcos had a 5-4 edge in pins.
Connor Eubanks (120), Alex Davies (138), Kyle Blum (145), Lane Lindquist (152) and Mason McKenna (182) all got pins for the Marcos against Fulton. Eubanks, Horn and Davies earned pins for the Marcos against Amboy.
The Steamers beat the host Clippers 47-19.
Fulton’s Tyler Fleetwood won two pins at 132 pounds, and Eli Pannell won two pins at 195. Tony Heinitz won by pin and tech fall at 160.
The Steamers also got a win from Michael Apostolos at 120 pounds against Amboy, and from Taylor Fleetwood at 285 against Polo.
Hayden Montavon (138) scored a major decision for the Clippers against Fulton, with Avery Shaw (170) winning via decision and Mason Costner (182) scoring a pin. Amboy got points in the dual against Polo through a Costner pin and a Morris decision.
Duchesses top UT: Melissa Bates rolled a match-high 630 series, and led Dixon with a 244 high game as the Duchesses won all three games in a 3,185-2,815 victory over United Township at Plum Hollow.
Allison Bay added a 568 series and a 230 high game for Dixon (8-2), and Annie Hantke (553) and Riley Kavanaugh (536) also broke 500 for their series.
Sky Stoutt led the Panthers with a 621 series, and added a match-high game of 256.
