STERLING – Beverly “Bev” Beveroth, 90, of Sterling, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at her home of 63 years in Sterling.
Bev was born July 30, 1927, in Sterling, the only child of Frank and Ilene Schultz. She graduated in 1945 from Sterling High School. Bev married Robert Beveroth of Morrison in 1948; they were married for 39 years until his death on March 30, 1987. She was a homemaker for her entire life.
Being a child of the Great Depression, Bev was thrifty and fiercely independent. She took great pride in being able to live independently in her own home until her death. She was a 40-year member of TOPS, an avid traveler in her 50s and 60s, and a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church. In her final years, she was known for scooting around the Sterling Senior Center on her walker, and always ready for a game of cards or bingo.
Bev is survived by her only son, Craig (Carol) of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; grandson, Rob Beveroth of Eden Prairie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Kirk Neugebauer officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. McDonald Funeral Homes is handling arrangements.
