Young entrepreneurs sought for classes

STERLING – Whiteside Area Career Center’s Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities program is accepting applications for participation for the 2018-19 school year.

According to a news release, while creating and managing functioning businesses, the program exposes students to business practices; connects students with community leaders in public and private sectors; and builds individual communication, problem solving, and networking skills.

Deadline for applications is March 12. Students can request an early decision via application by Jan. 31.

Prospective students, and their parents, are encouraged to visit the upcoming CEO class at 7:50 a.m. Feb. 5-9 at the United Way of Whiteside County, 501 First Ave.

Contact Jerry Binder, WACC director of development, at 815-626-5810, ext. 202 for more information.
