LANARK – M. Louise Simpson, 99, of Lanark, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Graceland Manor in Monroe, Wisconsin.

She was born July 27, 1918, in Cordova, to William and Marie Ruhnow. She married Cecil Simpson on July 24, 1942, in Kohoka, Missouri. She attended Lanark United Methodist Church. Louise loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning tomato juice, yardwork, and raking leaves.

Survivors include her sons, Don (Mary Beth) of Geneseo, Larry (Delores) of Manito, and Dale (Barb) of Freeport; daughters, Sandra (Sam) Haas of Elizabeth, Linda (Larry) Edwards of Pearl City, Judy (Albert) Roybal of Salt Lake City, and Nancy (Bob) Dietz of Prophetstown; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one plus one on the way great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Florence Ruhnow of Silvis; brother-in-law, Kenneth Simpson of Mount Carroll; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil; grandson, Nathan; brothers, Fred, Bill, and Bob; and sisters, Helen and Ruth.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, and the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lanark United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jarrod Severing officiating. Burial will be at Lanark Cemetery. Schwartz Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Monroe Clinic Hospice.
