Keeping warm between the covers of a good book in Dixon

Some folks decided to stay home on a frigid January day and curl up with a good book, while others, like Bob Cunningham of Dixon, opted for the library instead. Cunningham spent the afternoon at the Dixon Public Library catching up on some reading. The library’s a good spot to get in out of the cold and peruse some pages – in fact, it’s one of several warming centers in Lee County, along with libraries in Amboy, Ashton, Frankling Grove and Paw Paw, as well as the Lee County Council on Aging in Dixon. Go to unitedwayrrv.org/warming-centers for a list of other area warming centers. The rest of the week is calling for highs ranging from 8 to 12 degrees, and lows from minus 13 to 9 above. We’ll get a break come Sunday, when temperatures will push all the way above freezing, into the mid-30s.
