DIXON – The Dixon Chamber of Commerce & Main Street and the Telegraph are seeking nominations for 2017 Citizen of the Year and for 4 Under 40 honorees.
The Citizen of the Year is an individual who has demonstrated leadership qualities in our community; involvement in social, cultural, and/or educational advancement for others; a willingness to serve others with vision and purpose without personal gain; active involvement in organizations within our community and has contributed beyond ordinary membership; and strength of character, courage, and serves as a role model for present and future generations in our community and/or state.
Four Under 40 candidates must be 39 or younger as of Dec. 31, 2017, and live or work in the immediate Dixon area.
Candidates will be judged on their outstanding career achievements and local community impact.
Categories to be considered include career achievements, special awards and recognition, community involvement, volunteerism and community service leadership skills.
Ideal candidates will have distinguished themselves in their professional field or organization, are engaged citizens, and provide leadership by volunteering their time and talents to community groups and causes.
Recipients will be announced at the Best of Dixon Awards ceremony Feb. 9 at the Post House Ballroom.
