Garold ‘Pete’ Crady

LYNDON – Garold “Pete” Crady, 81, of Lyndon, died Dec. 7, 2017, at Oak Hill Hospital in Springhill, Florida.

Pete was born June 7, 1936, in Castleton, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Scott) Crady. He married Mary Garren on Jan. 8, 1954. She died Dec. 18, 2017. He had been employed for 30 years at General Electric Co. in Morrison. He also operated Pete’s Snowmobile and Motorcycle Shop in Lyndon for many years. He was a member of the antique car club, and enjoyed working on and rebuilding old cars.

Survivors include his children, Kevin Crady of Brookville, Florida, Keith (Lydia) Crady of Prophetstown, and Karen (Mark) Clements of Genoa, Wisconsin; his sisters, Kathleen Garren of Dixon, Marilyn “Jean” Smith of Rockford, and Sharon Harrison of Polo; his brother, John (Carol) Crady of Prophetstown; five grandchildren, Adam and Dru Crady, David Crady, and Cameron and Conner Clements; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Greg Crady; and his brother, Dwayne “Sam” Crady.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Prophetstown United Methodist Church. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Lyndon Township Cemetery. McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Prophetstown and Lyndon Food Pantry.
