ROCK FALLS – Floyd M. Harper, 92, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at his home. He was employed as a machine operator at the former Northwestern Steel & Wire Co. in Sterling before retiring.

He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Nixon, Texas, the son of Thomas Clyde and Maudie Mae (Petty) Harper. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Marion Earline Crow on Nov. 12, 1946.

Survivors include his wife, Earline; six daughters, Alice Feldkirchner of Rock Falls, JoAnn (Dennis) Feldkirchner of Las Vegas, Floy (Robert) Travis of Fenton, Linda (Charles) Bush of Rock Falls, Judy (David) McGuire of Enterprise, Kansas, and Tammy Wolf of Rock Falls; one brother, Robert Harper of San Antonio; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters, and one son-in-law, Gary L. Feldkirchner. 

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, and the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
