Santa’s Secret Workshop was a huge success

On Dec. 9, Self Help Enterprises had a Santa’s Secret Workshop. The individuals we serve came in and shopped for Christmas presents for their friends and families on their very limited budgets.

Gifts purchased were donated by the community.

Many businesses and organizations helped in one way or the other, whether it was donating money to purchase and get what was needed or donating gifts.

The workshop was a major success and will benefit the individuals throughout the year.

Self Help would like to take a moment and thank all the businesses that donated. It was greatly appreciated and we hope to make it an annual event for our individuals: Brother’s Flooring, Snyder’s, Harold’s Furniture, Froggy’s, Arby’s, Sterling Federal Bank, Mr. Nifty Cleaners, All About Eyes, Applebee’s, SBM, First Methodist Church in Sterling, Tri-County, First Congregational Church in Rock Falls, Sauk Valley Bank, Wipfli, County Market, Montmorency School, Papoccia Construction, CosmoProf, Wahl Clipper, and all of the anonymous contributors. We also would like to thank all of the volunteers that helped in every aspect of putting this event on for our individuals.

The donations of items, as well as time spent setting up, wrapping gifts, helping individuals shop, and all the behind the scenes work is very much appreciated.

Again, thank you to everyone who helped make this an event for the individuals to look forward to next year.
