With five bowlers rolling a series of 500 or better, the Dixon boys bowling team beat Rockford Lutheran 3,321-3,077 to win a Big Northern Conference matchup at Plum Hollow.
Geoffrey Baker led the way with a 600 series, including games of 212 and 227. Trevor White had a series of 589 and a 212 game. Tyler Yocum had games of 202 and 222 in a 582 series. Tyler VanQuathem had a 233 game and a 565 series. Lucas Lauer rolled a 544 series.
Rockford Christian 3,433, Oregon 3,424: Austin Strite continued his hot play of late with a 716 series, but the Hawks were edged by the Royal Lions at Town & Country Lanes in Mount Morris.
Strite opened with a 289 game, and followed that up with 212 and 215. Rounding out the lineup were Justin Poole (575), Eddie Buttens (569), Kyle Strite (537), Tate Burke (528) and Jacob Smith (499).
Ethan Brander led Rockford Christian with a 634 series.
Oregon 2,877, Rockford Christian 2,266: The Hawks won their 51st consecutive dual with a decision against the Royal Lions at Town & Country Lanes in Mount Morris.
Caitlyn Kaltenbrun rolled games of 203, 172 and 225 for a 600 series to pace Oregon. She was backed by Hannah Kalten-brun (520), Rebecca Meyers (479), Samantha Meyers (451), Taylor McKinzie (430) and
Taylor Wilson (397).
Baylee Prock had a 536 series for Rockford Christian.
Alleman 40, Fulton 30: Alleman had four pins in the lower weight classes and won three matches via decision to beat the Steamers in Fulton.
Fulton got pinfall wins from Tyler Fleetwood at 145 pounds, Tony Heinitz (160), Eli Pannell (220) and Taylor Fleetwood (285).
Rockets win two: Rock Falls rolled to a pair of easy wins in Winnebago with a 66-9 decision against Rockford Lutheran and a 58-12 victory over the host
Lonnie Gribbons won two bouts at 170 to pace the Rockets.
