OREGON – The Ogle County University of Illinois Extension office will offer two outdoor learning opportunities at 421 W. Pines Road.
• A gardening workshop, “Winter with a Master Gardener” is from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 8.
This class offers participants information about various aspects of home gardening. Topics include seed starting, companion plantings, pruning brambles and grapes, and tips on how to garden with kids. There also will be a hands-on session on making lip balm.
Registration is due Feb. 5. The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple.

• A Master Naturalist program is from 5 to 9 p.m. every Monday, March 12 through May 21.
The training on ecosystems and interrelationships of plants and animals will be at different locations.
Participants must agree to serve 60 hours of volunteer service within 2 years, continue their certification process with 30 volunteer hours and 10 continuing education hours annually.
