Singin’ the blues
FRANKLIN GROVE – If it’s the third Friday of the month, it’s Blues and Bluegrass night at the H.I. Lincoln Building, 136 N. Elm St.
Open-stage acoustic gospel, folk, country, blues and bluegrass will be performed, beginning at 7 p.m.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted to help with the upkeep of the historic building.
PJ’s, popcorn, prizes – and a bull
STERLING – The Sterling Theater will host a pajama party today for the 7 p.m. showing of the cartoon “Ferdinand,” the story of a big-hearted bull that gets captured and has to find his way back home.
Doors open at 6:30 at the theater, 402 Locust St., and kids who wear their pajamas will get free popcorn. There also will be drawings for prizes.
Admission is $5 for ages 12 and under and 60 and older, and $8 for the rest.

Santa’s gone to market
STERLING – Santa will be at the Twin City Farmers Market from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday for the market’s Christmas Celebration.
In addition to the jolly man with belly like a bowl full of jelly, the Scarecrow Cafe will be serving a holiday meal.

A musical, madrigal market
DIXON – The Dixon Winter Farmers Market will welcome some special guests Saturday: The Dixon High School Madrigal singers will perform, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The market runs from 9 a.m. to noon in the lower level of Loveland Community House, 513 W. Second St.

Adore music? Head to Morrison
MORRISON – Emmanuel Reformed Church will present “Adore!,” a mix of Christmas music by choirs from several area churches, at 7 p.m. today and Sunday and 3 p.m. Saturday at 202 E. Morris St. A fellowship hour follows.
The church is handicapped-accessible, and a free shuttle bus will provide rides before and after the performance, picking up at Ebenezer Reformed Church’s parking lot 2 blocks south.
