Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon would like to thank so many in the community and surrounding area who have helped make our 6th annual Community Coat Give Away in October so successful.
Because of the generosity of so many individuals, churches, KSB hospital staff, Florissa, and the Leydig Center, we were able to clean and prepare approximately 600 coats and various winter outerwear items to help keep area children, women, and men warm this winter. About 400 coats have been given away this year.
Besides the coats, various people and organizations were on hand at the Give Away to make it a fun and helpful event. We’d like to thank people from Florissa, Lee County Extension 4-H, Shiloh the Comfort Dog and his owner, Dixon Fire Department, Lee County Health Department flu shot clinic, and hair stylists Sandi Davis and Cheryl Goeking for offering services and activities for the children and families who attended that day.
We still have some children’s and women’s coats and some other outerwear items available at the church for those who might need them. Grace United Methodist Church is located at 921 E. Chamberlin St. in Dixon. Please call the church at 288-1505 to ensure someone is here to assist you. To learn more about this ministry, please visit samaritanspurse.org or call Grace UMC at 288-1505.
Because of people like you, we can continue to partner together and share the love of Christ in so many ways to so many people in need. It is a joy to be in ministry with you! Thank you and God bless you!
