Here are the real issues that face America

When will we get through our heads the media will never get it right? There is no verification of sources, and as the story is placed on the wire, it has to be true, so they run with it.

The system is politically toxic and will not change at least for the next 3, possibly 7 years. But here is the rub: our country has bigger fish to fry, and our legislators are asleep at the wheel.

Let’s look at issues those in power need to focus on.

Homeland security: The American people are not safe, and I hope we do not see another 9/11 and maybe worse.

North Korea: This situation is not just a threat to the U.S. but to the world, and needs to be dealt with quickly.

Drugs in the U.S: There is a need to declare all-out war on illegal drugs in this country.

Health care: We don’t need politicians controlling our health care and, more important, how to pay for it.

Social Security: This is last but not least. At one time, the Social Security fund was flush with cash. The folks in Washington felt that money should be in the General Administrative fund, so it was moved in the 1960s and the lawmakers drained it.

My point is this: Let’s get past all the noise from the media and hold our leaders accountable.

Contact your senator and congressperson, and tell them they are getting paid a lot of money, so get to work!
