Earth Angel volunteers also are collecting toys and donations for Christmas gifts for needy families in Ogle County, through Dec. 15. The goal is to reach families that have “fallen through the system” and are unable to receive any kind of assistance.

Items can be left at any of the same drop sites. The public is welcome to pick a child to buy gifts for, purchase the gift, attach the child’s tag, and return the gift to the drop site or call Straith at 779-771-4591 for pickup.

After Dec. 15, any toys or donations will be accepted through Dec. 25 at Mount Morris Senior Center, 9 E. Front St. Gifts will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 18 to 22 at the center, with donations dropped off from Dec. 23 to 25 going to Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Center and other area agencies.

Monetary donations can be mailed to Earth Angel, P.O. Box 188, Forreston, IL 61030-0188 or Earth Angel Fund, in care of Forreston State Bank, 200 Main St., P.O. Box 278, Forreston, IL 61030-0278.

Volunteers also are needed to wrap, pick up, or deliver gifts.
