PROPHETSTOWN – Genelda L. Scott, 89, of Dixon Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Prophetstown, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at the center. She and her husband owned and operated Prophetstown TV.
She was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Morrison, to Arnold G. and Gertrude (Lyon) Waite. She married Donald B. Scott on May 18, 1949, in Prophetstown. He preceded her in death March 24, 2011. She was a member of Prophetstown United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Bruce (Vanessa) Scott of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Brent Scott; one sister, Janice Bradley; one brother, James Waite; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, and the funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prophetstown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Meyers, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
A memorial has been established, to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
