My heart is hurting to hear of so many into unforgiveness. How do I know? Because I used to be where they are. Living in the past. We talk about it and think about it and talk about it some more, over and over and over again.
What is so sad is that it can never be changed. The wonderful news is we can be set free from its hold on us.
His name is Jesus Christ. Dare to read the journey he took for us when we weren’t nice (Isaiah 53), yet he willingly paid our debt in full and aches to raise us above our selfish, self-centered ways.
It comes in the words Jesus spoke on the cross just before he died: “Father, forgive them for they know what not they do.” And then he said, “It is finished.”
Oh, that our hearts would hear the importance of choosing to forgive all in Jesus’ name.
