See six singer-songwriters

DIXON – 6S Fest, an event featuring six area singer-songwriters, runs from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Rosbrook Studio, 107 S. Peoria Ave.

Natilee Bertolozzi, Matt Fichter, Josh Naylon, Kathy Cecchetti, Robbie LeBlanc and Jay Vonn will perform.

Artist and vendors will be on site, and Mama Cimino’s will sell beverages and pizza.

Admission is $5.

Prophetstown really lights up

PROPHETSTOWN – The 32nd annual Lighted Christmas Parade begins at 3 p.m. Saturday when Santa and Mrs. Claus visit the fire station, 104 W. Second St.

There will be face painters, a live nativity scene, train rides, carriage rides and live music on Main Street. The Masons chili supper runs from 4 to 7 p.m.; the Love Light Tree will be lighted at 5:30, and the parade begins at 6:30.

Candlelight Walk coming to town

OREGON – The 31st annual Candlelight Walk will bring seasonal fun to town from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, including horse-drawn carriage rides, live reindeer and Santa.

Downtown businesses will serve up refreshments and entertainment.

A holiday gift fair and winter carnival will be set up in the Coliseum on Fourth Street, and family activities will be offered at Nash Recreation Center, 305 S. Fifth St.

Done shopping? Unwind with music

Still hosting some visitors for the holiday weekend? Want to unwind after Black Friday sales? How about some music?

• Los Angeles based rock band Pullman Standard plays from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday at the Cooler, 311 W. Second St., Rock Falls.

• Trippin' Molly and Brown Bag Charlie play at 9 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday, Stateline Country will perform at the Whiskey Barrel, 305 W. Second St., Rock Falls.

A merry museum for kids

CLINTON, Iowa – What do you get when you combine learning and fun exhibits, and throw Santa into the mix? A day at the Felix Adler Discovery Center.

Santa will set up in the North Pole Christmas Room at the center, 332 Eighth Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Bring your camera and snap a photo with Santa and the kids, and enjoy some free cookies and milk. You also can check out the center’s many other kid-centric exhibits, designed to make learning fun.

Museum admission is $4 for ages 2 to 64, $3 for 65 and older, and free for free for kids 1 and younger and Discovery Center members.
