STERLING – Actor, writer, producer and Rock Falls native Frank Harts and his wife, actress and singer Shelley Thomas-Harts, will speak to any interested teens and their parents from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Sterling Township Center For Youth, 312 E. Fourth St.
Harts, nephew of Sterling Township Supervisor Ted Harts, has had roles in the Showtime drama “Billions” and HBO’s “The Leftovers,” has been a guest star on CBS’ “Blue Bloods” and has had roles on Broadway, among other credits.
Thomas-Harts, a longtime background singer for Vanessa Williams, also is known for roles on “Shades of Blue” and “Elementary,” and for her work on stage.
The Q&A is an opportunity for teens who want to pursue a career in the arts and entertainment industry to get advice from a couple with firsthand knowledge.
All Whiteside County high-schoolers and their parents are encouraged to attend. Admission is free.
The event is being put on by The Edge, the township’s new youth program that offers free workshops Mondays at the center that teach teens how to develop a life strategy by learning job interview techniques, budgeting, social skills, and ways to overcome physical, psychological or social obstacles.
