ROCK FALLS – Anna Young, 73, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at her home, surrounded by family.
Anna was born July 5, 1944, in Sterling, the daughter of Chirilia John and Eva (Pavel) Ordean. She married Ronald D. Young on Aug. 8, 1965, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 2017. Anna was employed as a licensed practical nurse for Whiteside County Home Health Care, CGH Medical Center, and Sterling-Rock Falls Clinic. She was a member of New Life Lutheran Church, Red Hat Society, Quilting Club, Book Club, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Zeta Chi Chapter.
Survivors include one daughter, Heather Young of Rock Falls; one son, Erik (Christina) Young of Rock Falls; two granddaughters, Victoria Johnson and Emily Young; one great-grandson, Riley Mattox; one sister, Mary Ratzlaff of Franklin, Tennessee; and one brother, John Ordean of Como.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Eva Ufkin.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
