Allen W. Davis Jr.

MACHESNEY PARK – Allen W. Davis, Jr., 75, of Machesney Park, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Mercy Health Hospital in Rockford. He was a science teacher at Eisenhower School in Rockford for many years.

Allen was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Dallas, the son of Allen Sr. and Charlotte (Drew) Davis. He married Linda Andrews on Jan. 6, 1962, in Polo. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Machesney Park.

Survivors include his wife of Machesney Park; his mother, Charlotte Miller of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two sons, Michael (Cynthia) Davis of Arlington, Texas, and Wayne (Sherrie) Davis of Royse City, Texas; his half sister, Ramona (Randy) Raymond of Hot Springs; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, and the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Machesney Park, with the Rev. Heath Tibbetts officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

A memorial has been established.
