International CEO praises Dixon Habitat

Dixon Habitat for Humanity was pleased to receive a congratulatory letter from Jonathan Reckford, Habitat for Humanity International chief operating officer, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the local Habitat affiliate.

Reckford specifically congratulated Dixon Habitat’s “Band of Brothers” for their dedicated service and Bob Miller, who was a leader of the Dixon Habitat in the early years of its development.

A copy of the CEO Reckford’s letter appears below:

Congratulations on 25 years and 25 homes! What wonderful milestones. No doubt the Groll family’s home dedication ceremony was a celebration, because this home is sure to bless them for many years to come.

As you mark a quarter century of service in this area, it must be gratifying to know that so many families like Jennifer’s have achieved home ownership and are working toward a brighter future.

It is amazing that you have remained faithful to your plan to build one home a year. It must have been gratifying for Bob Miller to know that you were building this milestone home. I’m grateful to him for running the affiliate early on, and I’m grateful to those who came after him who have enabled Dixon Habitat to continue serving the area for all of these years.

I also appreciate the organizations, church groups, and other volunteers and supporters who make your work possible, especially the “Band of Brothers” who are such a committed group.

Indeed, there are so many people to thank, and you are all an inspiration. Congratulations again on these milestones. I look forward to following your progress as you add more homes on Clark Street. Keep up the great work, and may God provide you strength and passion to continue building in the next quarter century and beyond.

Note to readers: Jonathan Reckford is the chief operating officer at Habitat International.
