I have received two calls from a very aggressive energy company.
They are very slick and try to confuse you. They say they are calling you back about a ComEd rebate program. When I told them I was not aware of anything like that, she said it was in one of the billing fliers that everyone seems to be overlooking.
She kept asking me to get my bill and give her my account number. When I told her I wasn’t interested because I was already part of a municipal aggregation program, she told me I was still free to switch my energy supplier if I would just get my bill and give her my account number.
I told her I was not interested and hung up on her. Two minutes later her supervisor called to try to explain why they were calling. She would explain it to me if I could just give her my account number.
I asked her not to call again because we weren’t interested. She said she was trying to help me with that, but needed my account number to do that. I finally had to hang up on her.
It makes me mad because they could do this to older people, and they wouldn’t know they were being conned.
