ROCK FALLS – The 61-year-old New Windsor trucker killed when his semi hit a utility pole around 2 p.m. Tuesday at Prophet and Riverdale roads had a cardiac incident right before the crash, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.
The International semi-tractor trailer driven by Michael A. Kness was eastbound on Prophet when it drove off the road, hit the pole and continued several hundred feet before coming to a rest in a cornfield. Kness was pronounced dead at CGH Medical Center, the release said.
