STERLING – Eileen M. Miller, 93, of Sterling, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26, 2017, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
She was born Dec. 22, 1923, in Avon, to Earl J. and Lavina (Cooper) Utsinger. She married O. Laymond Miller on Feb. 28, 1941. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1997.
Eileen was a 1940 graduate of Avon High School. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and bowling. She was most known among family for her baking and cooking, especially her homemade beef and noodles and her pies. Eileen loved to travel with her husband and always made sure things were tidy and neat in her home.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy (Jim) Blair and Jane (Greg) Hayen, both of Chadwick; two sons, Jim (Linda) Miller of Thomson and Jerry (Peggy) Miller of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers, and a grandson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, and the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at at McDonald Funeral Home, 505 First Ave., Sterling, with the Rev. Mark Godfrey officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
Pallbearers will be Scott Blair, Dan Miller, Jeff Miller, Ben Miller, Chris Morgan, Guy Morgan, and Jack Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Sandee Fackler, Cathy Dane, Jennifer Morgan, Jodi Shanle, and Melissa Collins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
