Dixon Knights get ready to roll out their fundraiser

Dixon Mayor Li Arellano Jr., accompanied by KC Tootsie Roll coordinator Johnathan Smith, signs a proclamation Monday announcing Friday and Saturday as the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Sales weekend. Brother Knights for Dixon council 690 will be stationed throughout the city selling the candy to help fund several local organizations that help people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Last year the council raised more than $5,000, which was donated to Lee County Special Ed, Kreider Services and the Illinois Special Olympics.
