STERLING – Mary Alice Dombroski, 95, of Sterling, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home.

She was born March 11, 1922, in Sterling, the daughter of Alonzo Webster and Mary Margaret (Hermes) Butterfield. She married Lester Dombroski on Dec. 2, 1950, in Chicago. He died June 11, 2012. Mary Alice had worked as a bookkeeper at the former Vock Distributing in Sterling for 17 years. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and for many years had been the organizer for the parish dinners.

Survivors include her daughters, Rita M. (Karl) Felker of Sterling and Mary K. (Ron) Deichman of Spring Creek, Nevada; her son, Denns N. Dombroski of Reno, Nevada; one grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Gail, Fred, Clare, and George Butterfield.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Bruce Ludeke officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Church, Hospice of the Rock River Valley, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to the local Catholic schools.
